Default C3 resto stalled

I'm nearing completion my driver 1976 coupe. The body and bright yellow paint is finally done. I've started reassembly of the interior only to be stalled by the lack of working seat belts, of all things.

Any one know of a source for new or reproduction seatbelts? I've tried classifieds, EBay and all the corvette suppliers (Corvette Central etc.)

Will any other years fit a 1976 coupe?

Regards,
Doug

If you have the original seat belts with all hardware, they can be rebuilt by places like Ssnake-oyl. Not cheap.

Are you trying to restore as original? If not, late model Camaro back seat belts will work (so I've been told).

Might try Hemmings. Keep looking at Ebay, look for username "corvettemack". He parts C3s.

If you have the belts they can be restored, I had mine done by Snakeoyl. Corvette mack on e-bay thinks he is a precious metal dealer( he thinks his stuff is gold, hes been trying to sell a used 80 power antenna bezel for 12 $ I bought it new for $4)

I agree with the guys saying to go with the F body belts. If you search the forum, you will find many threads on this. You did say this for a driver, so spend 60 bucks on the belts and dump real money somewhere else. My belts look stock to the average observer. Even those in the know comment on how nice the swap turned out. I could not be happier with the way they came out.

I had to replace one and got it through Gary Gruhala. Not new, but he had one that was equally "petina'd" as my other one.

Go to redwingvettes website. He has great photos of how the F body conversion will work.

For $50-100 depending on where you find your belts at, this is a good deal. Otherwise, be prepared to spend up to $500 for an original set of seatbelts.

Doug, we used 02 firebird belts in our 75 and I like them better then the originals. Since you're only about 5 miles from my shop let me know if you want to see them.

Gary

PS are you club corvette of CT?

Andover Restraints sells new. Not identical to factory but pretty darn close. I have factroy lap belts and Andover shoulder straps, they clip straight on as per the factory kind.

The Rear seat belts from F-body cars are supposed to be pretty darn good also, and they retract.

Thanks everyone for the information. I'm seeking out a set of F-body belts now.

Gary: I'm not a club Corvette of CT member but I should be. I see them at Lakeview sometimes and I took my 98 coupe to Moroso this year. Good show.
