Default Oil Gauge

my oil gauge wasn't working so i ordered and installed new oil line kit and soaked old fittings in paint thinner...after hooking up the new lines the oil gauge needle seems to be stuck. is there any way to free the needle or is it easier to replace the gauge

I have had the same problem. Isprayed the back and the oil hole with brake clean until it ran clear. This worked for about 1 year. I did this twice. I currently have a new one that will be going in.

I ordered a new one for my 70' a couple of weeks ago from CC.

After removing the inoperative gauge, I turned the engine over to verify oil flow (I was ready with a rag) through the brass line (oil flowed freely). I then reinstalled the gauge just to see if it would work. Still no good.

Therefore, I assume the gauge is the problem. Ordered new guage and 90 degree attach bolt. Hope they work....
