New T-TOP Hangers! CHEAP!!
Each, from Home Depot, complete with screws and padding: $4.95
I nailed 2x4's to the wall, then screwed the hangers to them - to give the tops room to 'lean in' from the padded surface of the hangers I got:
What happens the next time we get an earthquake? I know it sounds stupid but it could happen. I would have a length of rope go accross both of them vertically (or a bungie cord if you want to be fancy) just so they cant fall off the next time our ground starts to shake. Also it might save you if you accidently bump one of them or somthing falls against them.
That reminds me, I havn't felt an earthquake for awhile now. uh-oh... I just jinksed us. knock on wood

I like your system - and will do something like it when I get back home. I also agree that a strap or padded swivel at the top center of each will make them much more secure on the wall...

Oh,yea. When I put these things on the wall, I couldn't get 'em fastened tight enough! Only took fifteen minutes, though, and I'm happy with them.
And yes when I get out tomorrow I am going to buy a couple of bungee cords for the tops. A couple of sideways 10-penny nails in those beams will give the bungee cords a place to hold on to ...
Paul what a great idea. I wonder if my hubby will do that in our garage, not that we don't have enough junk in there That is such a good idea espically for those Saturday and Sunday drives!!!
Thats a pretty good idea. It sure beats putting them on the garage floor propped up against the side where they could get kicked, since they are below eye level. This may go on my rainy day todo list. Which in San Jose will be any day for the next 6 days.

ya, I'd be nervous with my blue glass tops on those without a safety belt. Bungees or those rubber straps would add piece of mind. I picture my 11 year old son who spins like the Tazmanian devil in tornado mode getting near them
Tshort, Those look great, but what kind of wheel barrow hing bracket are you talking about? What hinges on a wheelbarrow?
And what was the origonal use for the hangers baught at the hardware store? Or did you make them from PVC, Or?
I was going to build something to put mine in, have some extra carpet and padding I was going to ues so they dont get scratched. I may just use your idea, as it looks to easy.

I found them at Home Depot or Lowes. They are brackets made for hanging a wheel barrow. They have them where the other storage solution products are.
