I will be installing a vacuum pump to help out my power brakes and headlights. I have a reserve tank but need a little extra vacuum.
Are there any other less expensive alternatives to buying the $250 pumps from Jeg's? Is anyone out there using a stock vacuum pump from any another vehicle???
Thanks

You'll find these pumps in front of the driver's side front fender well. Look for the vacuum lines running along the fender from the brake booster. Get the electrical plug that goes to the pump and the rubber mounting plate.
The pump is also available new from GM. Various GM part numbers for vacuum pumps are 22062562, 22034995, 24505066, 10090521.
U can always go to "hydro-boost" for your brake boost system. "Hydro-Boost" requires no Vacuum at all. Alot of the GM cars & trucks use this system. My Safari van has hydro-boost assisted brakes.
