Default T-Top center panel clips?

Most of the clips which hold the center T-top panel inplace are broken. What is a good way to hold the panel inplace. I thought about trying the plastic screw anchors that home improvement stores sell. I figured I might have to resize the hole in the anchor to work with the stud on the panel. Any ideas?

Thanks

Which piece are you really discussing? Is this the panel that fits between the T-Tops and runs from the windshield header to the rear halo panels?

My problem is that I've tried to replace this panel with a repro panel. Of course it doesn't fit. (It really looks beautiful even though it doesn't fit.) lThere are two screw studs on the panel that are supposed to match into the birdcage T-Top sructure bar that runs between the windshield and the rear birdcage halo steel structure.

What I plan to do is cut off the screw studs (since they don't match) and then use industrial velcro strips to attach the between the T-Tops front to back panel.

This panel strip that I want it install is apparently made by EC Products. This panel is sold by the usual Corvette vendor supply houses. I 've been able to find where their place of business is and talked to them. EC stands for Everything Corvette and they're in San Jose California. They also apparently sell Ferrarri interior parts. I believe that I can make all their stuff fit. Unfortunately it's just not a matter of
mounting it in with the standard trim screws. I'm planning on cuting off the trim screws and using Velcro strips to mount the strip in. Also in their defense, EC did say that all of the early C3 Corvettes varied quite a bit with the way the trim parts fit.

And then...I approached an acquaintance of mine who does Big Buck ($$) Hot Rod interiors and asked him about making fit some of the 1970 Corvette repro panel parts that I'd purchased from the standard Corvette vendors. He has done that. Actually, his flippant comment was that he'd rather pull his finger nails out that try to fit some of the repro panels!!

I just wish vendors like Al Knoch and Ssnake Oyl would just sell/refurbish all the other early C3 stuff.

Yes it is the center panel between the T-tops. I have a new one coming from Al Knoch along with a bunch of other stuff. He now has a lot of panels for C3's. The only ones he did not have that I needed was the lower dash panels. Velcro is a good idea. That is what is on some of the factory panels like the door and A posts. I am putting on my new seat covers right now.

Wow!! Al Knoch is now selling some of the other panels!! That's great. I'll try to access his webpage for more info. I'm rebuilding my 1970 BB interior in red...bright red. I've been having some problems with getting the correct parts. ( I have some problems with the halo panels. I'd like to get OEM red panels,)

Why red?? I always wanted a C3 Coupe with the bright red interior. I have the interior to my 1970 pretty much put together in bright red. I think it's really beautiful. (I know there are folks that like black, and also the saddle brown. Actually the saddle brown was a close competitor to red. I think either would have been great. The flip of the coin went to red.)

....With my red interiored 1970 Coupe, what would be a good color for the car? The original color was the Champagne Gold (GM had a different name -something bronze). Actually I think, with a red interior a gold-ish light metallic body color would work. Also maybe a frosty, icy light metallic slightly blue color... I know, black is probably the perfect color, but for now I'd like to think about other colors.
