My flawless-out-of-the-box 670cfm Holley Street Avenger is acting up. One problem is the choke is not kicking down after warm up. Another problem is on a cold start up. I sink the petal and let it up slowly. After cranking a little, if I touch the throttle at all, gas shoots out of the top of the carb. Any thoughts? Lars?

Sounds like the front float is stuck and letting gas just flow in. Try removing the front bowl and clean it out. There may be a speck of rust in the float seat that is allowing fuel to flow in.
The following is a guess. I would also suspect this to be the reason you think the choke is sticking. The stuck float is too much fuel build up in the bowl and it is being sucked in the carb through the vent. Try starting your car with the hood open and the air filter lid off. Crank on the motor and watch the bowl vent and see if gas comes out of it. Sure sign of a stuck float.
If I am wrong on this, someone please straighten me out on this one.
