Hook to Carb
You need a good strong vacuum signal to work that PCV. Find the proper port (usually a bigger diameter pipe than the other ones) on the carb and connect it up with proper hose from your PCV valve sticking up out of one of your valve covers. Mere mounting to the air cleaner base will not do it... The air cleaner base mount is for an air breather pipe (providing a filtered draw source for the suction created by the PCV valve) that comes from the other valve cover than the one that has your PCV valve stuck in it. PCV is one smog item that is great to have because it sucks air out of the inside of the block where all the spinning parts are. It reduces oil frothing, leaks, etc... Keep it functional!
