That's all they do but they have a small bearing in the center to prevent friction and they are important to doing the job right.
You can not balance rods without it.
I just threw mine a digital scale and got them to the gram, might not be NASCAR/INDY accurate way of doing it but better than nothing, borrowed the scale from my g/f's jewelry store so it cost me nothing.
So you adjust the stand until the rod is parallel and then measure?
Seems the mass would be different if the other end is higher or lower
than the parallel point...
Anyone know what the general mass of the big end/small end is?
