Default C3 Forum Calendar

I don't know whether this has ever been discussed, but would there be any interest in a printed C3 Forum calendar??

I was thinking that for 2006 (yes I know its 10 months away...but let me explain) we could produce a color printed monthly calendar.
My wife did one for me for Christmas of my 'vette and TR4 from shutterfly...was $10 or so and is very well done.

If we do it for next year and with plenty of notice this will give everyone a chance to snap some shots in the spring/summer and in October we can have a vote and select the 12 best "pictures" ...not necesarily most restored, most costly, most blinged...just a good picture with a 'vette theme.
The picture with the most votes also gets the cover.

So what do we think??

Nick

I love the idea! I'd definitely buy one, and I know my vette would never make the pages. Would this just be a C3 calender?

I think it should be C3's only...........and its more about the picture and the hobby......than the members car itself.....so everyone should be able to enter a picture of some type.

12 months can cover all the "generations" of the C3. There are significant differences throughout the C3 era. Chrome bumpers, Half Chrome bumpered, Last year of the vert, Last year of the "notch back" then the 80-82 with the newer "ground effects"

Basically get everyone and categorize their car and try to cover the entire era by showing what we would vote on being the best example from the forum to represent each big difference and then you could add a little text along the lines of "This 1973 corvette was a one year run where the front bumper was plastic and the rear chrome metal" "1975 was the last year of the convertible corvette until 1985 where GM reintroduced the option"

That sorta stuff.

I love it ...Genious!...Lets do it!..I'll provide any thing necessary. Also per an Idea, everyone read the VIN of their car and the photo competition can be only for the Forum Member cars built in that month! You Know..My Car was built in January so I'm competing for, say one of 4 slots in January. Yes we could put more than one car a month! Tile the pictures...Hek I'd rather see more than bigger any way...What do you guys think? Kudos Liverpool!

Great idea!!! I like the idea. As a matter of fact, they do this over at the C3 Vette Registry and it makes for a nice calendar. I think having a C3 only calendar of Corvette Forum cars would be great. I have one or two I would submit for it.

So, who is gonna be the lead dog on this one?

Unfortunatly I am out of the running as my 77 is no where NEAR ready for her photographs. Her makeup is caked on, old and crusty. She is going through some internal conflicts right now as well, she has been drinking alot and has some sort of infection causing green fluid to come out of her nose. But the doctors say she will be fine as long as she gets the treatment she needs. A few operations and some plastic surgery and she will be running the catwalk like when she was young.

Well if its gonna be a 2006 calendar we have plenty of time to shoot some pics.

Lets decide on the format.....just 12 cars ,or do it by years 68 and 69, 70 to 72, 73, 74 to 77, 78 to 79,80 to 82...how about original, modified, work in progress and humour.

What would be the best?

Good idea. Here's some thoughts to make it truly a Corvetteforum calendar.

1. Not all pictures should be complete show car looking cars. We could show a finished rolling frame, or an interior almost completed.

2. One month could be a well done engine compartment, or four picture grouping of them

3. One could be a group shot from a forum cruise in.

4. One could even be ths old found in a barn shot showing the car as it was found looking thru the door.

Just some thoughts to get the rest of you thinking outside the normal box.( I said normal not Norval box)

PS; Could this be November?( I have seen a variation of this winter project many times.)
