Rebuilt vs new A/C compressor
Has anyone had any good luck with a reconditioned compressor.I see them on e-bay for 85.00 with a 90 day warranty compared to over 230.00 for a new one with a one year warranty 
You get what you pay for.

rebuilt comp. have a very high failuer rate within a year. I have a few friends that have automotive shops that unless the customer just can not afford the new comp. will not install reman. comp. due to the failuer rate.

Ya gotta have both answers...
My rebuilt R4 compressor has been going strong for 3 years now. And I live in Texas. But it was purchased from a highly reputable A/C shop with an honest warranty.
