I've been reading posts and thinking. There have been a lot of good ideas. I have to say ...if it were me...I wouldn't buy any kind of special car ,where I live , unless I could keep it safely in a garage and out of sight. I live in the Detroit Metro area.....lots of "third world" types around here...scumbags who would damage the car if they were unable to steal it.

You say somebody local is selling it... maybe he can store it for you until you find a garage or a storage place...... just an idea....

But never never tell the owers / operators what you are storing....

I checked the website but couldn't find anything about GPS tracking. It appears the unit is just a GPS mapping device.

I am very interested in installing an Internet-trackable GPS locating device in my car (I prefer to locate the dirtbags before the police). Anyone know of a good unit?

Thanks in advance,

Its the most recognized classic car today...the emblems will be gone in a week. Get one of the covers with the strap lock on the bottom..out of site out of mind, just another covered car.

I have my 78 covered up and it is parked on the street, I don't think anyone would want to mess with it right now considering without the cover on it, it looks abandoned, I have all the interior out and all lights, emblems, trim are off the car, the car is completely stripped and ready for paint. But when I get it painted and new wheels put on, then I will probably get a secured place to park it, not too much thefts around my area, but you just can't be too sure.

if you really wanted to stop it from getting stolen or even towed, put one of those metal boots on the tire. no one would even mess with your car when they see that. i saw a camaro with one on it, it looks cool to.
