82 special edition

I seem to remember somebody made a kit to add the special edition opening rear window to any 80 -82 cars. Does anybody have a car that it was done to or have any info on it ?

It's exactly the same as the 82 CE hatch, I think the kit was offered from..78??? GM used it on the CE and has been discontinued for a loooong time.

I do believe you are right about the 78-82 now that I think about it. But I thought somebody like Ecklers used to make a kit to convert yours to an opening window.

Are you thinking of adding one of these kits if you can find it? Are you not getting enough water in your car already?

I dont get water in my car , it never goes in the rain.

Well I guess I didn't want one that bad. For that money I can make mine into a Convert.

The 81' I just bought has one that was supposedly a kit from Ecklers.The seal on mine is torn & needs replaced,thats $275 if the 82' CE seal will fit mine.The mounting brackets for the latches & release are pretty cheesy made,they need re-engineered....Bob
