Default Transmission Teardown

Well, today I gutted my Th-350. Found the cause of it not working in second gear, the sprag broke! When it broke it took out the roller clutch, pump, and input drum. Now I have to replace the pump, drum, and torque converter along with the rebuild. Scared to reuse the converter because it is full of metal and I can't be sure I can get all of it out. I guess I am going to go ahead and step up to 2,000 stall since I am changing the converter anyway. The guy who is teaching me to do the rebuild said that is why he had me order the hardened sprag from TCI. He says its the only one he's never seen break with a shift kit. I now also know why it shifted so hard. When someone had the shift kit installed only 1 check ball was left and the 1-2 servo spring was removed. He says this produces super hard shifts and is not a problem as long as the special TCI racing sprag is used. So to anyone out there who has a shift kit, you may want to replace your intermediate sprag with the one from TCI. If it breaks it takes out the pump, drum, roller clutch, and converter. This really sucks!

Here is the 32 element sprag I used, I had to buy a ood used 70 or older hub to use it with. The 72 used a 16 element with a different hub.
I haven't worked on a TH350 yet so I don't know if the drums are also different?
