tiltin tires
just picked up a 69 vette a weeks back. when my son was drining the car home i noticed the rear tires would tilt in at the top on uneven roads or turns. is this a strut rod problem ??? any info would be a plus. thnx dave

Hard to say. Are the top of the wheels tilting inward at nornal stance? Are the lower strut rods straight as they should be or are they bent? Can you physically move the wheels back & forth with your hands? Things to look at are bushings, strut rods, trailing arms(rot/flex). Things to consider; wheel bearings, loose lug nuts (aluminum wheels can loosen), worn shocks.

You could also have worn out axle yokes. Early C3's were notorious for wearing these out inside the differential wher the ends of the yokes contact the cross shaft. The more that's worn off, the more the wheels will tilt in. You should have no more then .050" end play in the yokes. Strut bushings and wrong adjustment may be other causes.
