My vette is scheduled for a dyno'ing this week. Does anyone have any tips for timing, tuning, etc before i take it in? I've got it set for the best drivability. Base timing is around 17, 35 total advance. Carb is stock jetted speed demon 750 with the idle mixture just about perfect.
Anyone wanna make some guesses on hp?

Motor has choppy idle when set up properly, makes good power in the bottom end, absolutely pins you in the seats above 2500.
Sounds like a real tough motor.......385ci.2.02 heads solid roller demon 750.....sounds like a 480 flywheel net hp motor......mine is a 383 aluminum heads 2.02 big hydraulic roller cam...750 edel...real choppy idle motor....440 gross flywheel hp motor............
As far as guessing, because you list "Comp solid roller unknown specs", I would have to say "HP impossible to guess!" Just kidding! Probably 350 rear wheel HP, maybe more. Torque will be nice, maybe 400 rear wheel. If it were my car, the curiosity would be killing me and I would just have to know the cam specs. Next time you have to work on the front of the motor, can you put on a degree wheel and use a dial indicator at the rockers and check, or pull off the timing cover and get the numbers?
If the dyno guys will let you, take several ranges of jets, rods, distributor springs, timing light, etc. and see if they can help you dial it in...

You have no idea how badly i want to know those cam specs. I even have a piece of paper that came with the motor when i got it, but i can't find it. I have torn my place apart trying to find it. It has all sorts of motor specs on it, the list I typed up is what i can remember off the top of my head, and i know for sure the cam specs are on it. Maybee I can invite the entire forum over to come dig through my junk for that darn piece of paper.
Here's the motor just before going into the vette...
And cozy in its new home...(when the car was still in white primer)
