Strange transmission... Advice?
Helped a friend get his C3 running today. It's been in semi-outside storage for a couple of years.
Installed freshly charged battery, new plugs, oil, etc. Engine started fairly easy. The odd thing was the transmission, (4 sp) wouldn't go into any gear. With the clutch depressed, it was like trying to put it in gear without the clutch depressed. WTF???
The engine idled for about ten minutes and he got back into the car and the shifter worked just like it's supposed to. Took it for a ride, now everthing is fine.
Why did it do this??? Any clues???
