front brake caliper - taking it apart - questions
Im trying to take apart the front brake caliper to install a rebuild kit (o-rings etc) However, I cannot break the two large bolts loose to dissassemble the two halves. Any ideas. Its been soaking in wd-40 for a while and no luck. I might try drying it off then using a propane torch to heat the caliper so it will expand and I might be able to get those bolts loose. Any ideas??

Reason: description in title
Those bolts are torqued to 130 lbs ft. Add a little rust and you got yourself a real workout! Snug the caliper into a vice and use a 6 point socket on a LARGE breaker bar. Put a pipe on the end of that bar if need be.

i rebuilt my calipers on my 75. to take the bolts out, i put the calliper upside down on the garage floor, got a socket and a bleaker bar. if you set the caliper just right, you can stand on the caliper, to hold it down, and with the breaker bar a few inches off the ground , you can hit it with a hammer and the bolts should go. it takes a bit of persuation (big hammer, strong arms) , but they will go.

phew! Got it done
Man those buggers are tight . A little creativity, a long cheater-bar, and myself jumping (literally jumping) on the caliper/ratchet finally broke it loose. I figured if I broke the ratchet - it's lifetime guaranteed!!!
Thanks for the advice, I got the Caliper kit installed, and bleeded. Now for a test drive:
