Default Bra or no bra

I have a 76 yellow vette. The prob? I left it in gear and went into the gym. It rolled across the parking lot and smashed into another car. Thank God I have glass experience. The ? is w/ no paint experience should I fix the glass, spray an overcoat and go w/ a bra? They rest of the body is in great shape. W/ the current restoration I am doing, I don't have the $ for a painter. I would rather work on the mechanics and paint it back to the original blue at a later time. Any suggestions on a bra type? Cheap paint suggestions?

I don't care for bras at all. However, I'm using one because my front bumper is fubar and I'm not yet ready to paint.

If you're going to use one, I recommend the mini bra. I've used mine for about 3 years and it's held up well. It has stayed tight and doesn't interfere with the headlight operation. I think I bought it for about $65.00 from Mid America..

Frankly, I think bras look like shiz on a vette, but the way Fevre's got it set up actually looks pretty good.

Thanks, it was a full size bra that covered the headlights with roll up flaps for night driving. I took one look with it on the car and said , I cut it to fit just over the nose cone and used the velcro around the flaps to velcor it to the nose, since the nose had a hole in I first hot glued the velcro to the nose and sewed the other part of the velcro to the new mini bar, the glued started to give way so I drilled holes in the nose and used rivits to hold to velco down. It has held up very well and since the rest of the car is in pretty good shape as far as paint I felt the $150 I spent on the the mask and a sewing machine where a fair trade off to buy me 3-5 years before a full repaint.

there are obvious benefits from using a bra, protection from bugs, rocks.

The full bras rub the paint at high speed. I wouldn't use one with a good paint job. The miini's look like a good idea.

I dont like bra on car or on anything else for that matter You always end up with suprise when you take it off. I rather have my nose naked to have it hide behind a bra. But there's always exeption like if it's a quick fix that can save $ before the the big paint job that's ok. And like i always say. It's your car so you can do what you want and what i think or anybody else is not your problem.

I'd rather see the damage than have a bra.

I wouldn't recomend one but if your headlights are big and heavy I guess it would be OK.

Depends on if the underneath is nice and firm, or old and sagging...

I think I will try the mini bra. I just need the quick fix for the time being. Thanks for the info.

I put a high quality one on just for a trip. IT wore the paint a bit on the top of the fender. My body man says forget them! It is typically easier/better to periodically fix the chips by repainting the front then the dammage the bra causes.

Use the bra if you dont want to see damage. I personally wouldn't care about seeing damage, but I suppose that if it is only temporary it'd be ok to use one.

No bra - provides easier access to the high beams!
