I haven't had a manifold clear coated but it shouldn't cost that much. Typical rates are about $5-10 per part but a $60 flat fee is charged until you have enough parts to exceed the flat fee (they all have to use the same color). If you can get a few friends to have several things coated you can have it done for a reasonable cost
Just had my crossmember, transmission perch, and a exhaust bracket blasted and powered coated and it cost me $75, which was their minimum charge per color. Said my crossmember would have been a $15 part. I was going to have a pair of valve covers powered coated in silver, but it would have been $75 more. So they just blasted them for me as part of the $75 for other pieces.
That seems way high...the guy that is doing my stuff is charging me 40$ I'm haveing a pair of valve covers (cut to adjust valves) all my accessory brackets, my plug wire standoffs, exhaust manifolds, dist cover and bead blasting my aluminum intake...
From: Las Vegas - Just stop perpetuating myths please.
Silver takes 2 coats - 1 color and 1 clear.
Silver powder coat needs a clear coat anyways. Read it looks nearly like chrome - probaly matches ceramic coat nicely. If u use the 2 coat method u don't need to polish the intake (just clean).
I wanted to do some under-hood parts and prices out 'bout $150 for Eastwood equipment. But an electric oven big enough to cook parts to 400*F for 20 min required too.
Good luck and please post ur results. cardo0
I had mine powdercoated & cleared for $60...That's the way to go...it resists almost everything and always looks great...I'll try to find the pictures...Found one...Also had the valve covers & fan P/C...

Well looks like my pic wont work. We have sprayed clear on a few parts works very well.

Is the intake silver powder coated? Looks good. I have a sharkbar and it's powder coated hi-gloss black and it looks imperious to just about anything.

The intake is powder-coated silver without clear. The clear really smoothes the finish out when you put it on thick. Powder coating is very tough, we tryed to beed blast a part that we powder-coated, it would have taken a month to blast it off. We ended up putting it back in the oven and putting the oven in the cleaning cycle to bake it off(don't do this in your kictchen we about blew the door off the oven, the powder flashed when it turned to ashes ).

Here is a thermostat housing that we done in translucent blue. We have also done a set of valve covers and a timing chain cover, I am also thinking of taking my intake off and doing it to. The pics do not do it justice.
