Default Edlebrock Carb Questions?

Ok, well I can sell my current 600 cfm (1405) to my cousin for his 69' Stang and get a new carb.

This works out well for me since I just had a 383 build - specs: TFS Aluminum heads, Edlebrock EPS, Lunati 227/230 HR cam, 10.3 compression, Headers, 2 1/2 exhaust.

Should I go with the EPS 800 cfm or the standard 750cfm?

Is it worth the extra money for the calibration kit?

I have the 750 mech dp on my 383 as well, replaced the Holley 750 mech dp with it. It is a great touring carb and unlike the holley I don't worry about it leaking. I just slapped it on right out of the box and ran great. I need to change the jets though as I seem to be running out of "carb" over 5500 rpm but that is due to the stock jets.

Have you considered a Demon? In a recent HotRod magazine article about a 455 Ponitaic buildup they found a significant power improvement when they replaced an EPS 800 (that had been optimized for the engine) with a 850 Demon. Peak torque increased by 22 lbs and happened 300 rpm sooner. Peak hp was increased by 30.

I would have liked to go with a Demon, but just I purchased all the hard lines for the Edlebrock.

I noticed the EPS 800 had some additional upgrades so it might be a better fit than the 750. Just looking for some opinions.

My 383 is similar to yours, except for Comp Cams brand HR cam.....the 800 CFM Edelbrock carb I have now definitely out performs the 750 Edelbrock I had even though it was dyno tuned for my engine! ....yes, I've tried both & advise the 800 for better performance........the calibration kit is well worth it also.....
