Default 30" in the rear?

Just finished my dual Spal install today, and am ready for the next project. My ride height is 29.5" up front and 30" in back..... terrible. I'm thinking I want something like 26.5 up front, and 27 in back. Will 10" bolts for the rear bring me down enough?

Thanks

Joe

Do you have room (tire clearance) for a 3" drop? 10" bolts on the rear will definitely allow you to drop it a bunch but the front isn't going to drop without cutting or replacing it's springs also. BTW, giving body height dimensions is useless unless tire size is also included.

Do a search of this forum on "springs" and "lowering". There were two (recent) extensive threads on this very subject. Lot's of good reading.

Just curious. . . what kind of spring do you have on the rear now - how long are the bolts? Can you post pics?

I've got a new 7 leaf steel spring in back with 8" bolts. For wheels, I've got 17x8 TTII's. Cant remember the tire size off the top of my head. For the font, I plan on cutting the springs, I was just worried about the rear, if the 10's will bring me down enough. After much looking at the tires and fenders, my father and I have decided that 26.5 in the front, and 27 in the back will be good, and should clear the fenders just fine.

Thanks for the help

Joe

Longer than 8" bolts are not recommended because of the dangers of clearance. If you have a flat you will be digging a trench in the road with that 10" bolt.
