I found a 72 that is in need of complete restoration. It has a good frame, original motor and tranny. Every thing is there. Oh it's a vert. smallblock auto with air. Was War Bonnet I think.Comes with a hard top also. Can be aquired for a resonable sum. Problem is that is has a South Carolina junk title. Not a salvage title. A junk title. DMV told the present owner that the car could not be titled again. I don't know why the car was junked because it doesn't look like it has been wrecked. Does anyone know how to aquire a title so that the car can be put back on the street without changing vin # and stuff like that?

try and resolve it with the state that issued the junk title...if you can't resolve it with the dept of motor vehicles walk away from it, because it is not a good deal at all.. this is why you should avoid it, at some time after you have spent big bucks on it you will want to sell it.. and if the title gets misrepresented you may not be able to legitamately sell it ,and all your money and time in the car is worth nothing
I know, I know. I thought you were goin to talk me into it. I hate to see this car just sit there. I'll check with the DMV myself and then give up if I can't make any progress Thanks for the advise.
Im not sure what a junk title means but it may be a good deal for an exporter. In Australia the previous title is irrellevant. I bought an ex Georgia car and the motor vehicle dept just registered it without any search. It could have been stolen for all I know.
Living in Ga does have it's advantanges.A car that is older than ten yrs. does not require a title. All you need to do is make out a bill of sale or pick up a form from the DMV and your good to go
All this depends on the state you are in and what you plan to do with it. I would try to resolve it with SC. If that can't be done, then it is possible to register it with a bill-of-sale in several other states like Alabama, Georgia, Michigan, Maine I think-I'm sure there are others. What you don't want is the problems the guy in Arizona had, do a search for salvage title and read his story. Tread carefully on this car as a fixer-upper, but it probably has great value for parts as much as I hate to see a bumper vert get cut up.
