Has anyone found relacements for the tags on the belts? The wifes 79 belts need redoing. I have the tags but their dirty which brings me to my next question has anyone tried to clean them? What worked?
Thanks!

Default Wow...

This is wierd. I never gave 'em a thought 'till yesterday when I considered how to clean and protect them! Mine are a bit yellowed and dirty, but otherwise in good shape. They look VERY fragile, so I was going to use a little mild dish soap (Dawn cleans everything, right?) and then protect them with some kind of clear slip-over covering.

A company in Texas called Snake-oyl has them and normally include them on a re-web job.

I cleaned the ones on my 68 two weeks ago with a little water, a product called "Simple Green" and a sponge. Came out like new.
You can also buy them from Snakeoyl, as well as complete seat belt assemblies but make sure you get a second mortgage on the house first as the belts will be expensive.

I had my belts redone by snakeoyl and had them leave those dirty things off. Its not a Bloomington car. I did have them return my old labels just in case. I cleaned them by soaking in OXYCLEAN , didn't come out to bad, but not like new.

Upon reccomendation I used Oxy-Clean disolved in a 5gal bucket. I removed the belts and soaked them a few hours. They came out like new.
