Default exhaust

I just rebuilt my poor 350/190 HP for a 383/420 HP. I am one of thse stock nuts and want it to look origional. The exhaust is the ploblem. Currently it has a set of 2.0 inch rams horn manifolds (the stock ones) and a 2.5 inch system. I just bought a set of 2.5 inch rams horns and there out being coated. Any one have any ideas from there to the tips?

Screw the original look. You obviously want HP if you went with that motor. Get a set of headers and a custom bent 2 1/2 system and you will realize all that HP. I went stock for about a year and then went and modified it. The car looks stock from the outside. I was never a big fan of the stock iron manifolds. Let it breathe. JMO.

ok if you wana go stock. you can do what i did and that was replace the cat with a magnaflow pre fit. then ultraflows from dynomax in the back. That looks almost exactly stock. Up from that you can test pipe the cat and keep the ultraflows. up from that screw the mufflers and straight pipe it. But after that the other dudes right. headers and true dual striaght pipes. Also i know some people that whent with the flomasters, and have a good story.

Without headers and a good exhaust your 420 hp motor is probably more like 360 hp....your obviously not stock anymore....just store the original stuff....

If you want to keep it stock, and I can respect that, true dual 2.5" all the way back will be plenty. But at this level you are leaving a lot of HP on the table with rams horns. You can try to fit an H or X pipe but it'll have to be too far back to be really effective. Dynomax welded ultraflows will work well and keep it somewhat stock sounding, more so with the H or X.
BTW, where did you get the 2.5" rams horns, and how much?
Joe

With the ram horns, you are leaving hp unused, and that is what you are obviously after
