Got a 68 the other day (very sad story). Car was bought and then shipped across country. Problem arose when the transporter got rear ended. All cars on the carrier were totalled including mine.
Anyway, after inspecting the car 15 times or so, I got curioous enough about the front clip to try and figure out who made it and when. I can't find another one like it or any info on it. The guy I bought it from told me it was on the car 20some years ago when he bought it. Any information would be appreciated.
Ya know, thats the same thoughts I had when I first saw it (camaro, butt ugly) but that doesnt answer the original question.................Its sure the hell not a home made clip, someone has to know who made it and when.
I've seen something like that, there are many of those abborations ... like the caballista and such, I have seen a similar front clip before so it's not a 1 off, someone wasted time and money building those things. Is the car wrecked in the front or a complete write off???

Wrecked in the front would actaully be a relief. The front damage was just when the car broke loose and ran into the tractor. Problem is during the wreck a minivan broke loose 1st and crushed the rear end to the gas cap tweaking the right side frame rail. I'm waiting for the insurance company to tell me what they will give before I go with complete write off though. After all, ALL i need is a body and frame, the interior stood up to the collision really well
To the ONE person who actually tried to answer my question, Thanks man............... To all you guys with the sarcastic and demeaning remarks but not addressing the question at all, don't ya have anything better to do??
I thought this site was for Corvette enthusiasts, not just a bunch of Vette *****. I asked what I thought was a good question as I've owned 5 Vettes now and never saw that particular part before but ALL I got was sarcasm and digs. I especially love the guys too stupid to even type. It's a good thing you got those ( icons) for the people who didnt finish high school. Otherwise you couldn't have joined in.
I don't think the remarks were meant to be taken personal, everyone has there own opinion. It's not my taste, and I don't have an answer for you, but good luck with everything. By the way, some of the people posting in here may actually be from high school- I know I was in high school when I joined the forum.
Maybe I was not clear enough.
I said it looks like a Camaro.
What I specifically (big word) meant was that perhaps it is
a piece of a Camaro fiberglass nose that someone cut and
cleverly grafted into the 'vette front clip.
Now, if you have some manufacturers stamp or part numbers to
go by - that would narrow the search.
Sorry your first impressions here were negative. Usually not the case.
Speed Racer's gonna be PISSED when he finds out the Mach 5's been wrecked!
I knew I'd seen that car some where! But seriously folks I may have miss spoken, For you see I , unlike the other babaling miscreants, actually Like the durn thing!...Wann aSell it?
