has anyone ever tried to call them? is there phone always busy? i am trying to decide whether to go with their 200r or go to the keisler 5 speed. the car is an 80/auto now. what do you guys think about their 200r set-ups? i need to know if its harmful to the trans if you drive around in third in the city or in overdrive unlocked? and the cost for a complete kit?
The tranny on my 350/auto went out and I have decided to go with the 200r4. page62 has done it and after riding in his car I can tell you it is probably the best upgrade you can make.
Email him he can answer your questions.
I love the 200-4R I got from them. Been in the car for 2 summers and made the trip from Mi to Ky and back a lot nicer then the TH400 with my 3.55 gear. I use 4th gear all the time but I installed a toggle switch to keep the convertor from locking unless I am above 45mph. Trans install

yeah i called them a bunch of times, always got good service and good advice too....i have the 700r4 can't comment onthe 200. i don't know why it would be harmful to drive around in 3rd.
The BEST thing you can do in the city is drive around in 3rd. Keep it out of overdrive until you hit the freeway. This is because the 3rd gear is a 1:1 ratio, while OD is a reduction gear. The quickest way to kill an OD tranny is to lug it around town in 4th.
I have just put a 200r4 in my 71 vert...the difference is incredible...I've found around town I don't really have a 'lugging' problem...I have a 3.08 rear...I think you should expect to spend $2000.00 + or -, depending on how much you do...I found Bowtie to be very good at making things right...when they included or sent the wrong piece...they made it right...and, they do call back...I give them a real plus on dealing with all the 'possibilities' that come with changing a tranny in all these old cars...I'm VERY glad I used them AND changed to OD
