Auto trans problem-vibration
77' automatic, has very harsh shutter/vibration with hard acceleration from a stop, or idle rolling. It works well and shifts great with "normal" driving.
Do I need a rebuild, or is there something I can check myself.
The trans case does leak a little fluid, but I have recently added more and the problem still exists.
Any suggestions?

Sounds like universal joint (s) to me....driveshaft, and or axels in the rear....casual glance may reveal rust stains on the joints, for sure you know it's shot then...with the thing on stands, and in neutral brakes off, I just wiggle hell out of the shafts and can usually tell if it's bad....axels need be totally unloaded so gotta get that spring outta the way first...

Don't rule out something simple but mine was loose transmission bolts, as in all of them. Damn lucky it didn't cause any major damage.Looked for many other things before I noticed one of them loose, then another, then another, then one missing etc.
