I need to replace the rear plenum drain on my 1970 convertible. But, I'm not having any luck finding the part number from any of the major vendors (e.g. Mid America, Ecklers, etc.). Anyone order one recently? Is it the same part for a coupe and convertible? How big of a PITA is it to change?
You can buy the covers from Dr Rebuild and others but to my knowledge you cannot get the drain tubes for a vert. I took mine out and cleaned them up. Sandblasted and painted the covers. It is a 2 person job putting them back. Had my then-4yo help me.
The coupe drain tubes are straight & exit to the wheelwell while the 'verts are a 90 degree and exit to the rear. So ... no they are not the same.
I haven't seen any replacement tubes listed anywhere for the vert. Are yours completely gone? You should be able to come up with a solution with some rubber hose/material & silicone to repair them unless they're totally gone.
The covers are also different but unlike the tubes, the vert ones are available from all of the vendors.

Yeah, they're pretty trashed...I think I might have to manufacturer something out of some rubber and silicone.
I'll bet if look hard you can find a preformed heater hose or something similar with the same I.D. that you can use to replace either most or a good portion of the drain tube.
Another idea is to buy the coupe tubes and insert a 90 degree elbow or piece of copper tube where it needs the bend.
