Just put in my rebuilt engine and transmission. When I start it up the engine runs fine. When the clutch in depressed a clicking noise is heard. It is not as bad when the clutch is not depressed. I installed new clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing. The fly wheel was turned. Any ideas?? Something metalic is hitting in the bell housing. I hate to have to take the transmission and clutch back out. Help
I installed a new Centerforce II in my 72, I pulled the trans twice because of a metel to metal ticking without the clutch depressed and the clutch fork vibrating, with it depressed it was Ok. I purchased a Hayes standard non-centering throwout bearing and it cleared the problem and has worked great so far. Just my two cents and two trany pulls.
My problem is the opposite. When the clutch pedal is depressed I get the loudest noise????? Where did you get the Hayes standard non-centering throw out bearing....What is it. I hate going back in there I was hoping for some thing easy.
Just went through that "clicking" noise too.In my case the dust shield was tweaked slightly.Took it back out,and hammered it flat, painted the turkey, and put it back in and no more "clicking".
Same symtoms as yours,by the way.
