help with short
replaced the h/l switch the other day and noticed that the plug was charred at the dark green terminal...so i went to my AIM and found the wire leading from the switch to the fusepanel but cant tell where it goes from there... hadtheswitch disconnected the otherday and triedto jump it with a booster i just bought but i think i cooked the booster when i tried to start the71 BB with it...got burning smell and itdidn't work again afterwards. i can take the booster back but i still haven't solved the short yet....patience wearin thin...help!!!!

So you are saying that the plug was black before you replaced the switch? Its possible that this plug was loose, therefore not making good electrical contact with the swich; everytime you turned on this switch the electricity would have to 'jump' a small gap of air between the plug and the terminal causing black burning.
How about some history - why did you replace the switch in the first place? Did you try the jumper wire because the new switch doesn't work?
