Default Shocks!

What would y'all recommend for new shocks? Mine are probably blown and most likely need replacement, just like half of the moving parts in my car. I was thinking KYB Gas-a-just but there's quite a few choices. Lets go with best price:performance ratio.

I'd go with Bilstein's. That's what I'm planning on doing when I redo the suspension. Mid America (www.madvet.com) has a set of 4 for $250. Many people on the forum swear by them, and your vette deserves the best.

KYB's for a driver. (Summit Racing sells 'em cheap.)

Bilsteins if you do autocross, etc.

Summit has the KYB shocks for $29 each - they're great for a driver, a little firmer than stock but still very comfortable and smooth ride quality.
I have the 460lbs springs and the KYBs are a little too soft for my taste to handle the higher spring rate - I'm going to install either Bilstein or Koni shocks.
If you use the original springs you should be very happy with the KYB Gas-a-just shocks

If you're not in a hurry wait a bit and see what the vendors here have for Spring sales. For example, I saved enough $ on a suspension kit during VB&P's winter sale to cover s lot of the price of a front rebuild kit.

Of course, VanSteel has everyday discounts to forum members if you know the secret code (Mods, could VanSteel's post with the code be made a sticky?) so shop around. You may be able to get better performing shocks for not much more than the KYB's.

Anyone using these?
QA1 Corvette ''C'' Series Adjustable Shocks - 1963-82 Corvette
I think this is my next shock purchase... You get 12 levels of firmness with the turn of a dial.....
Now if the maker of Viagra could only replicate that....
