Don't know. I did mine myself. It's not hard just use 2000 grit sand paper and a lot of water just be carefull around the edge so you don't sand true the clear or the paint. After use a electric polisher with compound. Be carefull with the buffer on the edge because you can cut it easily. Start with coarse and work your way to the finishing compound and swirl remover. Next is the wax. And you are done.
I certainly am not an expert. However, I would think that the best, safest, way to remove paint from an early C3, is to wet sand it. OK, I will admit that this is the most labor intensive way to take the paint off. I would think that the next optimum way would be to media blast. (Walnut shells, plastic beads, etc.) I wet sanded my car, primered, painted it, and then wet sanded out the mistakes, painted it, wet sanded out the mistakes, painted it......eventually I ended up with a reasonably good paint job.
Also, to take the paint off, you should remove the emblems, the door handles, the louver chrome pieces, the bumpers, etc. I removed my old weatherstripping also. However, since I was repainting in the original color, this saved a tiny bit of work since I didn't have to be that careful with the door sills and the engine compartment edges.
Very very tedious, but an overall an enjoyable experience.
