Every man has got his price.... and I know know what mine is. Some one offered me what I had put into the car and I said yes. So I guess I did pretty good I didnt lose anything. I then went and bought a new SSR and I am very happy. Dont get me wrong I loved driving my vette but I forgot what it was like to drive a car with out listening for every sound thinking about what was going wrong while driving. I find it strange that even though I dont have the vette i still find myself checking the forum two to three times a day to see whats going on. i guess old habits are hard to break.........
From: Arlington Va Current ride 04 vert, previous vettes: 69 vert, 77 resto mod
good for you....good luck, i have had many sports cars and loved each of them...like the boat owners saying goes ...the two happiest days of a boat owners life are the days when he buys it and when he sells it...
If I only had my Vette to drive - that would drive me nuts - I am fortunate enough to have a daily driver. So when I want to ride in the hemroid buster aka - the steam room aka the worry zone - its still fun !
no to me the 90+ horse power wasnt worth the $19,000 extra over the used one with 3,000 miles, but its still fun granted its not as powerfull as the vette was (no big block ) but my gas needle dosent drop when i floor it
Good luck on getting "what you have in it" on the SSR. I can't think of a more depreciating asset than the SSR. I know about "depreciating assets" we own a 2002 Z06, my 72 LT-1 seems to be offsetting the Z06's depreciation so we'll keep both (don't laugh, they are both paid for!)
I must say I can't blame you for selling your vette ykp53. I love corvettes but they are a pain in the to work on. If it was my only car I'm sure it would have been gone by now. Good luck with your new car
Being a Tenessee boy, I learned long a go, everyone needs a pick up. Fortunatly or unfortunatly , depends on the way you look at it, I'm far beyond the single car days. I have a solid dependable pick up that I could drive as a daily driver, (1978 Ford F250) but whats the point, a pick up is for hauling your stuff. I keep most of my stuff at home, just the same , I got me a pick-up. I also got one of them little foriegn jobs that get good gas milage, (240SX) its a 5 speed and shifts smooth has a nice sony stereo and a cherry red paint job. I don't drive it too much its not realy very utilitarian plus , its tiny, I'm 6'4". So I got me a Chevy Blazer, It has a tail gate and the rear window pops up with a button on the dash, the rear seat folds down for groceries and haulin stuff, I drive it a lot, its got the 4.3 V6 and gets good milage! Then theres the 1973 Corvette. It'll never be a daily driver, its a hobby, something to take my frustrations out on or loose myself in or look cool in (If I feel the need) or take a trip up the Highway 1 along the coast. You'd just have to shoot me to get it.
