I've decided to get the new Raybestos unit, as it is on the shelf at the Checker Auto a stone's throw away.
The originality issue is not big here. The original engine is under an inch of sawdust, over in the corner of the garage... the AIR system is in a box in the attic... etc., etc... so the old MC will be saved, as well, just in case some idiot wants to make this car an NCRS weenie some day...
The POR15 sounds like the way to go. Haven't used it before, but heard a lot about it. Brush it or spray it? I can do either, but brushing is always easier that loading the spray gun. I can't imagine it's worth the hassle of spraying a cast iron part. I don't suppose POR15 is available in spray cans???
While you are at it you might want to consider the condition of the diaphram in the booster. I bought a booster/master cylinder combo at O'Reillys for $130. I only had to unbolt the original booster, brake lines and disconnect the clevis from the brake pedal arm then just drop the new one in. Of course, I wish I had painted mine before I put it in, but that's another story.
Mal;
I'm interested in the Booster. My 73 has power steering and what appear to be manual breaks. Is it advisable to add a booster to a manual system? Does anyone know if this is difficult?

codestar7 - Wish I could tell you more, but I only replaced what was already there. My advice would be to start a new thread asking about the conversion if you haven't already.
