The blowout diagram on corvettefaq is not correct for all control valves, some don't have the o-ring in the valve half housing but an annulus spacer (not in the drawing but the arrow with the corres[onding numeber is) with sealer on it and the 0 ring between the plug to sleeve key and valve shaft washer is something I have never found in any of the control valves I rebuilt.
If your valve is leaking between the the annulus spacer and the valve housing make sure the annulus spacer is nice and smooth without corrosion. I found one I rebuilt leaking there, the guy I did it for said it wasn't done properly but he had pullled it apart and put in an extra washer because he couldn't get the valve adjusted properly (this is because he's a moron and I hope he reads this). Now what happened is the extra washer got stuck partly between the annulus spacer and the valve housing and dented the spacer resulting in a big leak
