Vette magazine was at one time the best rag out there. Now it is more of a custom rag. When D.Randy Riggs,Jim Campisano,James Resnick..etc. were in charge it was the best vette magazine BAR NONE....Now it is a joke...JERRY
Just thumped throught the April and May issues. Zero C3s.
yep. And Corvette Magazine only had a C3 pricing guide - but no other articles or pics of C3's.
And the Pricing guide was full of uplifting statements such as "1975, the lowest horsepower year for the Corvette". Seems they couldn't say anything positive about the C3's.
Just received my issue of Vette magazine in the mail in the last few days. Very disappointed and will not renew my subscription either. Had it for two years and getting more and more disappointed with it.
I don't get it. It's as if C3s were really Fords or something.
Ya gotta admit, it'd be tough for these magazines to run "these $600 mufflers will give you 12 more HP" every-other month, geared-towards the C3 crowd, like they do for the newer Corvettes.....
* longest run of any series Corvette
* most choices for engine displacement (305, 327, 350, 427, 454)
* most sold year of all Corvettes (1978)
* First Corvette to pace the Indy 500 was a C3
* Last series to have Zora's "touch"
* First Corvette series to have a Targa-type roof
and I've only scratched the surface.
Yep, I can understand why these magazines ignore the C3...
I use to subscribe to Vette and Corvette Fever. I now just buy off the shelf IF there is something substantial about C3s. I have been really disappointed with Vette lately..... in fact I can't remeber when the last time I bought one.
I look forward to seeing how Corvette Fever comes through with their promise of more C3 coverage.
Corvette Enthusiast appears to be the best mag out there for older vettes with some good and useful tech articles toboot.
The rest are too C4-C5 oriented for my taste!
I am an ocassional contributor to CE. I spoke with the editor, Andy Bolig, last week about some C3 articles. He was interested in several of the ideas and the articles will get done over the next few months as I have time to do the work and the photography. CE likes the type of tech articles that feature things the average owner can do himself with a little guidance and encouragent, rather than sending everything off to a pro.
Speaking of Corvette Magazine... has anyone tried to email their editor about concerns & complaints? They seem to hide all sources of Contact. And BTW, CorvetteMagazine.com is not affiliated with the printed Corvette Magazine.
