Default Need help re: what it's worth

I have a "CE" engine block with heads, crank, pistons, cam that I purchased new in the seventies and has approx. 30,000 miles of use. Sitting in storage and I need to make room.
What is this item worth if I decide to sell?
Thanks for any input.

I am not sure what a "CE" engine is. It worth what someone is willing to pay. If it's just a standard engine, then $200 to $500 should be fair.
New complete GM long blocks with warranty sell for $1200.

The "CE" prefix stands for crate engine. I have one in my car which was a warranty replacement L-68 - 69' BB. It is very difficult to determine much else without the bill of sale for the engine or a knowledgeable eye. From what I have found out the CE engines were pulled from the assembly line and crated for warranty replacements. After the model year warranties expired, they were offered for sale. The CE- serial number does not give any information as to the construction of the engine. Swamper

MIGHT be worth some extra bucks to a guy that needs a 327 and the date codes....other than that, it's just another used 327, albeit the 327's are harder to come by than the 350's.

I purchased it new from local Chevy dealer in the seventies before I had any knowledge of what I was buying. Casting # is 3970010, date code is K254 and it is stamped CE5N25983.
I thought I was buying a 327 motor. What did I really get? Is it a 327 or a 350?
I seem to recall it has a 4 bolt main

You can look at the rear crank flange to see if it is a 327 or a 350. I would bet it was a 350. The "010" block is a large journal with 4" bore used from late 69 and up.

Probably worth $300-$500 all together with no fancy parts on it. It is just a low mileage engine to run or use as a core. The mileage is tough to verify.
