whats it worth
Hi guys, looked at a 81 with a 5 mile paint job. frame looks absolutly mint, birdcage looks good little rust visable by lower dr hinge interioure looks good it needs trailing arms(rust) seatbelts windsheild has a little wiper rash has new headers and flowmasters runs ok missing anti pollution stuff 66000 miles real clean car they want 8.5k I'm thinking its worth 4.5 to 5.5 what do you guys think. paint jobs and trailing arms don't come cheap but I can do that work Thanks for any input, Joe

Unless you steal it ($4k), I'd walk. Too many unknown's (trailing arm rust, etc).

I wouldn't touch that car unless I pulled the trim off the top of the windshield to check the windshield frame. Also, check the back of the frame, just in front of the rear wheel wells. If there is significant rust in either of those areas, it represents a significant cost to repair.
The trailing arm issue is enough in itself to seriously reduce the selling price...
