Those are good heads for what you want to do, buy them before you read another posting on this subject and change your mind. You can use your stock valve covers, plus intake, carb and cam. Joe
Ok, so what combustion chamber size should i go with then, if i go with the iron eagle 180 heads. Should I get the 64cc or the 72cc? valve sizing is the same for both 2.02/1.60. what added benefit would i have if I went with a 72cc as apposed to the 64cc or vise versa?
If i understand correctly about the CC size, is the high the CC the lower the compression ratio? So the 64cc would rasie the compression ratio up...Please correct me if im wrong..
Go with the 64cc heads. That'll put you at around 9.5:1, which is where you want to be with iron heads. The smaller the chamber size, the higher the compression.
so how much hp should i expect out of a set of these heads? anyone running them? I have a 79 with no emissions equipment, 2.5" true duals, no cats, And hooker compitition headers on order. Sorry for all the questions, but a huge thank you to everyone for helping out with all of their input.
