I have more than that just invested in my engine. The hard stuff is already done, now you can take your time, drive it, and detail it on rain days. Have tons of fun!!!
That is really low miles and a nice looking car. You did good. The car looks real familiar. I have a red '75 coupe. If you've never had a Vette before, you'll love owning the road when you drive it.

That's a great price but I question the seller's info. New door panels? If you were doing a body-off, wouldn't you replace the seat covers too? Seller also states that the door panels are "new." don't look new to me.

The door panels are still in the box. Perhap the seller did most of the work under the car and was getting to the interior.
If the car was put back together correctly, that's a great deal for what you paid. All it needs a little work and paint and it as good as new.
I agree, looks like you got a good deal. Frame and engine bay look really nice.
This auction is a pretty good example, though, of how dicey terms like "body-off" are. We assume that "body-off" means a complete, 100% restoration, but he obviously means that he literally took the body off during his restoration, but at least some of the wear parts (seats, for instance) were not replaced.
Was the original interior red or white? both the red pieces and the white ones are worn. Maybe someone switched out the red for white at some point or am I off?
Looks good to me. My guess is this was a frame replacement, from the looks of it. Nice original low mileage car, if it is as represented. Hopefully you'll get those shop receipts as well so that you have some history. E-bay's a bit risky, but it looks like you did OK to me.
Well he said they rebuilt the engine and hes guessing its now 300-350 hp and the door panels are not on yet. He will ship them with the car. The guy is getting divorced and has 2 kids so he has lots of stuff to pay. He seemed upset to let it go. He said the lights were recently fixed and worked great. The only problems he said were the speedometer needle broke off. The windhshield wipers are acting up and the lock on the driver door is acting up too. This kind of stuff doesnt seem major and I always dreamed of owning a vette especially a C3. I figured if it runs good then I cna drive it and have fun fixing the stuff while still having a running vehicle. Should be a fun restoration. Ill probably have the interiuor redone if i can find any decent shops around here in louisiana.
this is the best way to get one of these cars, already done(chassis) and seller needing fast cash, im sure he is losing out on the deal, congrats on your find, well worth the little you paid for it
You can do the interior like many of us are now, especially since there is a bunch of group purchases going on (look at the top threads (stickys). I saved a ton of money on mine already (78 w/Silver Anniversary Paint). Every penny helps.
Well, good luck, and hopefully we'll all be on the road this summer.
Any mention of the extent of chassis overhaul? Differential, steering, front/rear suspension, bearing assemblies and such? These are all areas that should be addressed in a frame-off resto.
