Heat shield with fiberglass spring ?
I am changing my old steel spring for a new fiberglass model from VBP. Can anyone tell if they bought or fabricated any type of a heat shield after this mod. I have the factory exhaust but have not installled it all together yet so I am unsure of clearances. Just trying to stay one step ahead and get the car on the road sooner than later. Thanx Brent

I used the VBP heat shield. Do yourself a favour and either make the heat shield about 2" wider on each side or make sure your exhaust runs DIRECTLY under your pumpkin. The heat shield is just a rectangel of aluminum with five holes in it so it should be easy to fabricate. Most of the "factory" exhaust replacements are spread apart under the pumpkin and thus can then transmit heat onto the spring.
I also put a square of "zeroclearance foil" on my spring to reflect any heat that may have got to the spring.
