Default 1972 mirror mounting location

Hi this is my first post on your forum. I have a 72 C3 with a/m mirrors. I have purchased 2 OEM mirrors and mounting kits but cannot find the correct location to mount the OEM mirrors. The a/m were way off and I have to fix the holes first. Can anyone help me with measurements or pictures so I can find the correct location on my doors? Any help will be appreciated have taken the door apart and found the metal backing but cannot locate any original holes.

Thanks
Mike

Make a paper templet on the drive side then flip it over for use on the passenger side.
