i had this discussion over at another forum today .. why do you consider that rice? just because it's slow? I mean it has a fairly decent body kit IMHO, no crazy exhaust, no 10 foot spoiler, and no stickers ....
I mean I wouldn't say I would buy one for myself, because I almost bitched my friend for saying he wanted to buy one (it's a girls car, not ricey) no offense

I work in a nasty part of the city full of fart tube cars..... if it sounds like it's farting (a tight japanese fart, not a full blooded good morning american beer fart!) then it's rice! Otherwise it's just a dad being good to his daughters.
my youngest girl drives a nissan centra,, and oldest drives a honda civic, there very reliable cars, i lean towards the honda ( i had a 750 motorcycle) very dependable car...

i thought that I was the only one that thought this way.
Don't sweat it Len. Common sense in my opinion. I don't even like to have my son or daughter ride in my C3 for safety reasons. It's fine for me to sit on the side of the road trying to stem a minor fuel leak before the tank drains or the car catches fire, but I want my wife and kids to have a car that runs until the tires are worn to the rims.

It's great on gas, got 33mpg on the first tank, great price and low miles.
It's a nice practical car. Something with the rising gas prices you aren't afraid to drive. I have driven them and am impressed with the get up and go.
good choice.
Not rice, but you could've bought them a newer T/A that would've smoked that thing. It's understandable that you want to buy a car for them that won't beat your Vette.
