Another POR-15 purpose
Before

Sounds like ur expecting better chip resistance from the POR 15? Some cars (like RX7) came with rocker panels ruff-coated from the factory. Ever try heat lamps to cure the top coat? I used 'bout 200*F to cure my spray-can enamel on the hood hinges (in a toaster oven) - looks great. Also tried 450*F like the factory uses but either i heated them too long (45 min) or the spray can enamel can't handle the heat as it did brown and had to repaint.Looks like polishing rue does the job on that aluminum. Thx as my '74 rockers are 1 piece brushed & painted aluminum and need a redo.
If i could find the right SS screws I could try and repolish.
Well maybe polish and repaint.

Emamel CC or clr polyurethane? I'm trying to find polyur in a spraycan but the MniWax stuff i tried won't take 200*F heat. Dropped down to 150-175*F to cure and stay clear. Was hoping to topcoat with urethane so touchup is just a 400-600 grit rub and spray on more clr urethane. New cars are 2 step with clear urethane (enamel too) but are cured at 450*F. But who wants to rent a spray booth and set up 2-part paint equip for small parts?
