T/T Column HELP

T/T Column HELP
Hi Guys I am working on a T/T out of a 74 Corvette, the pin that goes throgh the center of the shaft will not come out. I think someone jammed it down there hard enough to make it stay in the shaft. I tried tapping gently on the end of the shaft with the column hanging upside down with no luck. The tele shaft did move into the column a little. ANY SUGGESTIONS??

Did you try a magnet?
Next question. Why do you want to remove the pin? Does your T&T column not telescope?
There is a metal piece behind the pin that is offset. Pushing on the pin causes it to **** and lock the upper shaft from telescoping. Just off hand I don't have a clue as to what would be keeping the pin from not falling out of the upper shaft.

Once again I am sorry for not makng my question clear. The tele is stuck in and will not tele in or out. The pin that locks the tele is stuck in the column.
