My 1967 went into the paintshop in early March. Today I stopped by to drop off some parts. They have made remarkable progress although the car is a sorry sight. Sort of felt a little sad at the look....but I feel good about where this is all heading. Getting naked did not reveal any major hits in the past; a little one on the drive's front fender that was easily tidied up.
People have had a lot of questions about paint lately so I thought I would share. There is always the question re costs and I find that is a fruitless exercise as labour rates vary in the various regions of the continent and much depends on the condition of the 'glass when old injuries are revealed. This car was basically intact. The estimate calls for 130 hours of labour.

Thanks for sharing the progress Paul. As you noted, everyone is interested in paint. I look forward (in a couple of years) to this very same thing. Keeping us informed is very much appreciated.
I am staying with Goodwood Green and going with the 427/BB hood. The shop has the new hood and the Phoenix Graphics stinger stencil kit. This pic shows where I am heading. The black stinger is not "correct" (in 1967 it was white) but that is what I want. Not ready to join the alternate NCRS yet as a card-carrying member but I do have my "mod" moments.
Well fellows. Thanks for the goodwill. I went through the restoration phase on my 1979 for many years (since 1986) before paint in 2000. There is a light at the end of the restore tunnel. Sometimes it never seems to end but when the train arrives at the station. Wow! Loved that 1979. Many poo-pooed wasting money on that year. But I never had any regrets. It was and still is a fine automobile. It should be out of winter storage in two weeks.
Trying the same with the 1967. As the double nickle has passed me by I don't have time on my side anymore to do restorations. So as the old Corvette saying goes I bought the best car I could for the money available. And it is a good, solid platform. Should look pretty in May.
Steve,
I will be back there tomorrow to drop off more parts. I won't list them all that I have accumulated this long Canadian winter. But lots of gaskets and weatherstripping, etc. New bumpers, parking lamps, door handles, rocker plates, emblems.....I am going to have a big sale on nearly new 1967 parts on EBay soon. All are 8/10. And for those who value such things, "original." That's a pretty crass commercial message but I don't want to store these parts in the basement. They should find a new useful application.
