BBC Headers --> Questions!
The Hooker Super Comps that I currently have on the vette give very little in the way of ground clearance. The car is lowered slightly and I (literally) have 3 fingers of clearance between the ground and the collector. It's driving me a bit crazy really and I need to do something.
I am considering the sidepipe option, but I would prefer to keep the exhaust running to the rear of the car. No manufacturer seems to make a rear exit header that does not have the collector mounted directly under the body. Does anyone know of a manufacturer that I might have missed?
What I have considerable interest in is a header setup from the February, 1998 VETTE magazine (page 61 & 62 if you have it) showing an exhaust buildup from a 460 BBC. The headers come down and actually follow the tranny. This places the collectors right next to the tranny and about a foot from the removable crossmember. Plenty of ground clearance! I have tried the contact numbers at the end of the article trying to gather additional information, but I haven't had any luck.
Anything out there that fits what I am looking to do?
Thanks.
Bryan
