Default Repainting steps?

I'm thinking about repainting my vette (same red color.)
I know not to use the "Maaco" over-spray, but what are the questions I need to ask, since I'll have someone else do it for me?
How much should I expect to pay, too?
thanks!

Default Paint

I had Macco do my 84, but had them sand donw some problem spots. Cost me $1766 and it looks great. They did a good job. Other reputable paintshops wanted between $2500-4500, but would not give a firm price until they sanded it down. Just depends on who and how much you trust to do it, and how much your willing to part iwth$$

In 87 for painting the car, I paid $300.00 extra to have the body "blocked". This meant smoothing out any factory seams showing, and a surprise I did not expect. They actually "glassed" in both doors, and re-cut them for a uniform fit,as adjusting gaps with factory hinges was a real nightmare.
That total cost then was $2700.00 for laquer paint.Recently, due to some required body repairs, my front/rear clips were re-painted at a cost of $2240.00.,not including all new Silver Anniv decals.
Paint jobs today can run as little as $600.00 (you prep) or as much as $8000.00. You must be very careful who you go to.That much I have learned.
