I went to order 18" TTIIs in a 18x9.5. I had two wheel dealers tell me that don't make them with a 9.5" width. Anyone out there have them and do you have a part number?
Rod if you hvae offset trailing arms, you may be able to fit the 10" wheel under the back. With the arm clearanced, I think the only other things you have to watch for are the swaybar (may clear with an 18" wheel ?) and then the frame. I would have to check, but I don't recall people hvaing clearance issues with the shocks. I too would like to one day go to a 18x10 in the back
We have a forum member (69 Red vert with black hood-I cant remember his forum ID) that has 17x8 4BS in front and 18x10 5.25BS with 285/40s that fit and look amazing.
I dont remember what he said he had to do to make em fit though.
If I make the leap, this will probably be the set-up Ill try to go after.
Brent, EricU has that wheel combination on his vette and it looks great. I'm headed to the garage now to take some final measurements before deciding on the 18 x 10s or 17 x 9.5s.
Mike, I have offset trailing arms. I believe my swaybar will have to come off. Rod
check out Norval's posts about the mods he did to allow these the 18x10's to fit. This is something that I definately am interested in doing as well but might have to wait until next year. I am eagerly awaiting to see N's vette on the road this spring with all the mods he has done this past fall/winter.
I place my order for 17 x 8s for the front and 18 x 10s for the rear. Now I get to wait 5 - 8 weeks for the 18s. That will give me time to lower the suspension. Rod
This is a shot of the rear with the 10 inch x 18 inch rim with 6 1/2 inch backspacing and a 285 x 40 x 18 tire.
The tire is hanging down due to the jack stands but you can see it fits inside the fender well
