About 3 months and around 500 miles with a smile on my face since getting mine. All in all it's a kit I've been happy with. If the new tranny goes in without many problems I hope to get it on the dyno this weekend.

Slink, what heads are you using and what kit did you install.....

Jay are you doing the build yourself? i have a roller cam vortec head engine that i want to do this to.....let me know what you are planning, i may do it at the same time, or at least live vicariously through your build....bob

I'm using one. I used Forged 10:1 pistons, Eagle H-Beam forged rods, and thier crank. My mistake was putting a lot of money into porting, polishing of 1.94 iron heads. I should have put aluminum heads on it. Runs good though!

Hi Bob,
I'm going to do the build with my "engine guru" Gordonm. I'm getting a 350 block bored .030 over and planning of pulling the #'s matching block out and put it in storage. I'll be using the AFR heads, manifold, carb, roller rockers, etc. from the current engine. I'm still reviewing kits and components by Eagle and Scat seeing which is the better bang for the money. I'm hoping to get my 73 to the track before I pull the engine and get some baseline numbers on my current setup so it's going to be awhile before I do any work. The way i'd like to go is around 450 hp with ample torque, anything close or over 500hp and I'll never get traction....

Eagle rods i know are forged in china but finished in the USA. The engine builder that is building my motor says that they are very high quality don't be botherd by the forged in china part. I'm sure their cranks are the same way. Chec out CNC-motorsports.com they had the best prices for most of the stuff i bought for my motor and free shipping

I went with a budget build so I'm running vortec heads and an eagle rotating assembly with .40 over flattop's. Technically a 385 but close enough. I'm not sure on the exact kit because my sponsor ordered it for me with his account at Eagle. It arrived with the forged crank, forged eagle rods, speed pro teflon coated pistons, clevite 77 bearings and rings, a pioneer flexplate, and balancer. The stroker kit was somewhere in the neighborhood of $750... So in terms of a budget performance build, it fit into my plans perfectly. There was absolutely no fuss and things went together as they should.
I wish every weekend project on this car went as well as the Eagle stroker kit.

Any guess what horsepower/torque you have now......

Forged crank, rods and pistons for $750 ??? WOW, Summit sells the forged Eagle crank for $650..... looks like you got a sweet deal....
Most of the material in this kit is imported. That in itself is not all bad except if you have a problem. Check out Ohio Crankshaft.
I bought an Eagle 355 rotating internally balanced assembly a couple of years ago. The crank I received was a good ole GM forged crank. Miked the whole sucker and everything was just fine. I've now got about 8K miles on the whole thing and still holding together. I bought mine from Scoggins and Dicky.
Anyone using one of these kits?, and how is it performing for you....
I have a very strong 383 in my 74r,4340 eagle crank,6"eagle Hbeam high pin rods(4340) with light je srp flat tops;9.5 comp(static)...very happy with it...who cares where they are made provided they check measure accurate before install...john

My butt dyno hasn't been calibrated lately but I'm expecting something in the neighborhood of 385/420 at the wheels. It might not make it onto the rollers today, but it will sometime in the next few days.
Jdunne, marshrat99, Slink, what cams are you guys using.....again thanks for all of your imput.....
I have a very custom hyd lifter flat tappetcam with 114 lsa and fairly conservative lift....the point was to emphasise the torque and be very streetable...it has dynoed 339 rwhp but massive torque from 2000 rpm...still runs hard with a 3.08 diff...very big flows through the heads and custom long tube headers with Xpipe, true duals and magnaflow mufflers....john

are you going to use a block with one piece or two piece main seal? what track are you going to, i'd like to see how my new engine/trans runs...maybe i'll meet you there, bob
